5m away from eee-orr-ing to hospital

Edited at 7 Feb 2006, 12.35am, while stuffing myself with CNY goodies, still.

Like I said. 2006 is a bad yr. It's still the same even after praying to Uncle Tai.

Ok, its not the same.

I could have already been in hospital if Uncle Tai din stop the bus.

And for that, Thank You Uncle Tai~ (If he understands ang moh)

A picture tells a million words. And N70 is a darn powerful camera phone. Even thou it lags like a tortoise.

Bus service and bus plate altered

I was standing at the green cross there. Roughly 5m away. But I'm bad at judging distances.

I did the formal reporting at work, since, SO MANY PPL SAW THE INCIDENT!! Even big boss + my boss. So have to write, arbo later kana for not reporting.

Story goes, in casual terms..

I went out for late lunch with my sup, din try our luck at the canteen bcos ITS CONFIRMED no variety lahh. A few seconds after we got to the bus stop, it started raining heavily. Got shelter machiam no shelter. I had to seek refuge behind the tiny protection the bus stop pillar provides. (Yes, the pillar near the bus) The wind almost blew me off my feet and pasted sand all over my pants. Since the bus stop is like in the middle of NO WHERE, we jus have to try our best to keep our footing.

Rain came on and off. It is during these kinda conditions where u'll feel that the bus is taking a super long time to arrive. Already the 2nd bus passing by on the other side.

Finally we saw the bus in the distance. I walked to the middle of the bus stop (aka the green cross) and outstretched my arms to flag it down. The bus was travelling relatively slow. The whole time I was looking at the sand stuck to my pants and trying to rub them off.

The next thing I saw when I was checking out where the bus was, it was already up the kerb, skidding in slow motion. Seriously I din think of running. I was watching the driver turning the steering wheel frantically getting it to stop. The centrifugal force keep the bus in motion, wobbling and almost toppling it.

It din occur to me that it would be dangerous. Neither was I afraid that it will hurt me as even thou it was in motion, it probably moved for 5 to 10 cm. It was only when I saw it wobbling then I moved away from my VIP seat. If it were to topple, theres bound to be debris flying out of the bus, which will, almost certainly, hit me.

I noticed quite a few eye witnesses inside the office premises. The driver is now trying to reverse and get back to the road, perhaps either to run away from the scene, or to calm the passengers. But, he did the reversing DANGEROUSLY. See how close the vehicle is on the lane behind. What if there's a container truck running more than its allowed speed (they always go whizzing more than 60km/hr) at the lane behind? If it were to knock full impact onto the reversing bus. Thats it man! I'll either not be able to blog anymore, or be blogging from NUH.

That is how dangerous our bus drivers are, not to mention the few accidents they had over the weekend. Its time for them to look at the condition of their buses.

N the stupid bus shelter designs! I noe its not under LTA but hey! Creativity is good, BUT CAN AT LEAST IMBUILT SOME PRACTICABILITY INTO UR DESIGNS?? (There goes my english) Whats the use of having a roof over the bus-waiting area when firstly, the sun shines into the area at most times, secondly, the wind directs the rain into the area!??!?!?! Not a big deal of difference from having only the bus pole as a bus stop.

After the bus was back on the road in a position where it shld be, the driver, with 2 passengers, got outta the bus and walked ard for inspection. Wah! The bus more impt! No visible dents, no nothing. At least the KINS police came out and asked me if I'm alright. Hmm.. yeah..

Anyway, we boarded the bus (I aint gonna wait somemore), even thou the bus seemed VERY DANGEROUS. (What happened to my OE TENETS!?!?!? Gone drowning into Pandan Reservoir!!) Every turn the bus makes, I have to cross my fingers. It seems unbalanced! And I could feel the braking/gear system's scrunching under my feet. Must be something wrong with the brakes.

Then my sup was blabbering non stop abt 4Ds and ToTos so outta well, psychotism, I bought $4 worth of ToTo (today no strike. better luck for 10 mil). N who did I see but the driver (i think so, looks like) himself in the que a few ppl in front of me. (My sup was queing, I stood in for a while when he went to the loo).

Obviously I think, he din report the incident. If not, he'll be busy writing the reports and answering to his bosses and not having the time to que for 4Ds and ToTos.

I think I'm having a bit of phobia of taking buses.

TAXIS AINT ANY GOOD ALSO!!!

I tompanged my colleague's cab to SIM. The uncle, accelerate like no body's biz. N the floor's still wet from the afternoon rain. Very very scary. Esp after experiencing only 5m to phoning the ambulance. Couldnt see the speed he was going at as I was directly behind him. What's with all these ppl, cant they DRIVE MORE SAFELY?

Got home in one piece, luckily, even thou half the time I was thinking abt centrifugal force and bus skiddings.

I dunno wat transport I'm gonna take. Walk to office!??!

Perhaps I should faster get my license and get a car.

Nope, no $$, not tis yr, I foresee I'll bang cars tis yr. No good no good.

I think I'll go get a 挡煞 crystal tues after work.
